The star was dressed casually in a white T-shirt flaunting the logo of his own charity foundation, Being Human, and bright red pants with shoes.

The actor is currently shooting for his ambitious home production Jai Ho and is also busy hosting the seventh season of the popular reality show Bigg Boss. However, he managed to take time out to encourage the children who were raring to go in his presence. Being a football enthusiast, Salman was more than happy to be associated with the goodwill event.

" Milind is doing good work. I like encouraging sports and football is a game that most kids play. People play cricket too but then those who own the bat, wicket and ball will run away once they are out. But here the ball can be afforded by all." This challenger tournament was initiated five years ago by parliamentarian Milind Deora in association with the English football club Queens Park Rangers.

Salman unveiled a poster of the soccer challenge and kicked the football to start the event. About his participation in sports, Salman said: " I play a lot during charity matches. Also at home I play with the kids. We play football almost every day with the kids." Deora too, ceremoniously kicked the ball at the event.

Doling out the right soundbytes to suit the event, Salman said football was one of his favourite sports and that he would willingly endorsing it.

" There are talks of a football league too, and supposedly I am the brand ambassador of football. But yes, nothing is confirmed as of now," he said.

Salman has maintained a distance from the cricketing tournament Indian Premiere League ( IPL), where his rival Shah Rukh Khan owns a franchise team ( Kolkata Knight Riders) and is one of its most prominent faces.

Rather, he started the Celebrity Cricket League ( CCL) where filmstars from all over the country play the game. Salman's CCL has received mixed response so far.

" I have the love for sports and like to encourage the youth. If I can afford a team, I will definitely do that. Also, if there is a charitable angle to it, surely I will," the superstar said.

A football enthusiast, the superstar took time out of his busy schedule to attend the event organised by MP Milind Deora in Mumbai.
